Invitation wording
How a heimish invitation is worded for each simcha, line by line: what goes on it, in what order, and what the short forms mean. Every design on this site comes with sample wording like this; you type your own names over it.
Wedding invitation wording A heimish chasunah invitation keeps a set order: a pasuk, the invitation itself, the chosson and kallah, the date, the hall and the times, and the parents at the bottom.
Tenaim invitation wording The tenaim invitation is short and to the point: one father invites, names the chosson and the other side’s father, and gives the date, the hall and the time.
Vachnacht & bris invitation wording The vachnacht is the night before the bris, so one card invites to both: first the vachnacht, at home or in a hall, then the bris the next morning in shul.
Shalom zachor invitation wording A shalom zachor is on the first Friday night after a boy is born, so the card is short: a pasuk of thanks, the invitation, the night and the parsha, the place, and the father’s name.
Kiddush invitation wording When a girl is born, the father makes a kiddush in shul on Shabbos morning.
Bar mitzvah invitation wording A heimish bar mitzvah invitation names the bochur, the day and the hall for the seudah, and is signed by his father.
Sheva brachos invitation wording Sheva brachos are made on the seven days after the chasunah, often each night by a different host.
Upsherin invitation wording The upsherin is a boy’s first haircut, at three.
Pidyon haben invitation wording A pidyon haben is made for a firstborn son on his 31st day.
Bris invitation wording A bris is on the eighth day, usually in shul right after shachris.
Bavorfn invitation wording The bavorfn is the Shabbos before the chasunah, when the chosson is called up to the Torah.
